Our Impact
For 15 years, NLC has trained and connected nearly 10,000 proximate leaders across 50 local and statewide chapters.
NLC’s reach extends far beyond our immediate network of NLC Fellows and alumni. It includes members of the communities served by our chapters. The lives changed thanks to nonprofits led by NLC alumni. The constituents NLC alumni serve in elected or appointed offices.
Felt that NLC provided them with the training and network to advance their professional and personal goals, based on surveys from the last three cohorts.
of Fellows pay no tuition for the NLC Institute. In stark contrast to many other leadership development programs that have tuition and fees, the NLC Institute is offered to all Fellows free of charge.
Volunteers lead our 50 state and local chapters, resulting in a collective annual contribution of nearly 50,000 hours to sustain an ecosystem of changemakers across the country.

The NLC community is changing the narrative of what we expect from our country’s leadership. Our alumni prove what’s possible when leadership pipelines center voices that have been traditionally excluded and value collective action.
Gone are the days with one archetype for who is a leader. Equitable progress is made real when we invest in proximate leaders.
