Yezenia Sandoval
Yezenia Sandoval - 2024 NLC Chicago Fellow
Yezenia Sandoval is a non-profit professional from the West side of Chicago. She currently serves as a Teacher Training Institute Manager at Urban Alliance, a national workforce development organization, in which she supports educators in facilitating social-emotional learning centered curriculum and opportunities to highschoolers across the city of Chicago. Prior to Urban Alliance, she held positions within higher education as a Program Associate for a research center, a Peer Academic Coach, and a Program Coordinator for professional development programs primarily serving youth of color. Yezenia holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and history and a master’s degree in educational leadership and policy from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor.
Throughout her educational and professional career, Yezenia has been focused on leveraging community engagement strategies to increase access to higher education for underrepresented communities in addition to better connecting programs to the communities they seek to serve and improving student outcomes.
