Viri Martinez - 2024 NLC New Jersey Fellow
Viri Martinez (she/they) is a facilitator, trainer and a migrant justice advocate. They are committed to the liberation of all migrants from oppression. They believe in the lifelong process of unlearning the divisive beliefs and practices that the system has imposed upon us. In their current role at the New Jersey Alliance for Immigrant Justice (NJAIJ), Viri supports member organizations and the larger social justice movement through capacity-building efforts, such as providing resources, programs, and trainings that empower communities. Prior to joining NJAIJ, Viri was an intern with Planned Parenthood Action Fund of New Jersey and the offices of New Jersey’s Legislative District 19.
Viri is a graduate of Rutgers University - New Brunswick and Raritan Valley Community College. They are the proud child of Mexican and Dominican immigrants, and is forever grateful for their unwavering love and support.
