Varsha Vijayakumar - 2025 NLC New York City Fellow
Varsha Vijayakumar is a communications and human rights strategist, crafting creative campaigns to drive positive change. At Bryson Gillette, Varsha manages high-impact public affairs campaigns across education equity, tech and AI accountability, and philanthropy. Varsha previously led digital strategy at Sakhi for South Asian Survivors, a New York City nonprofit that works with survivors of gender-based violence, and served on the Emerging Leaders Advisory Board of Human Rights First, an international NGO focused on preserving human rights in the U.S. and abroad.
Varsha holds an MA in Human Rights Studies from Columbia University and a BA in Political Science and Religion from Middlebury College, where they also served as President of the Student Government Association. Varsha enjoys reading, cooking, and doting on her cat.
