"Without community service, we would not have a strong quality of life. It is important to the person who serves as well as the recipient. It is the way in which we ourselves grow and develop” Dorothy Height.
Personally, being influenced by community activists like Ms. Dorothy Height and my mom, who was also a local community activist, demonstrated the importance of giving back but also creating change for many generations to come, which is key to growth and development within ourselves and the community. I am passionate about serving the community and striving to become a recipient model of community service. Through public service in several organizations such as Urban League of Broward Young Professional Network and actively involved with Civic Engagement/ Professional Development Committee: National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Miami Dade Chapter, Guardian Ad Litem, and City of Hollywood Education Advisory Board member.
