Tyrone Fleurizard (he/him) is always thinking about the causes and consequences of inequity. As a Program and Operations Associate at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, he manages a portfolio of racial equity grants aimed at creating ecosystem-level change and co-facilitates a working group of grantmakers interested in building their capacity and practice for racial equity. After graduating with a bachelors degree in psychology, he was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to Malaysia where he worked with a diverse group of students, teachers, and local and state education officials to deliver English-language immersion programming and support student learning and development. An educator at heart, he served as an Equity and Inclusion Fellow while obtaining a masters degree in education policy at Harvard where he facilitated equity-focused workshops. Originally from Bridgeport, Connecticut, Tyrone currently resides in Oakland, California where he spends his time reading and writing and being outdoors and eating good food.
