Taylor Mckinney - 2025 NLC Arkansas Fellow

Taylor Nicole McKinney, a first-generation college graduate from rural Central Arkansas, earned her B.S. and M.S. degrees in Animal Science from the University of Arkansas. In college, she questioned commercial agricultural practices and realized the disconnect between her values and the industry reflected broader cultural issues of white supremacy and patriarchy. Determined to challenge these systems, she raised funds for her local Democratic Party, leading to her current role as Development Director for the NWA Center for Sexual Assault. In this role, Taylor encourages community investment in survivor services and drives social change to unravel the cloth of injustice by pulling on the thread of rape culture. Outside of work, she knocks doors for progressive political candidates, plays guitar, and bakes sweet treats with friends.
