Sonal Patel

Sonal Patel, MPH (she/her) is a public health professional that believes in the power of advocacy, community engagement, and cross-sectoral partnerships. As a Senior Policy Officer with the California Health Care Foundation, Sonal leverages her health policy skills and relationships to support the foundation’s goal of improving the health care system so that all Californians have the care they need. Sonal is passionate about public health, the health care delivery system, behavioral health, and the intersection of health and housing. She is currently Co-Chair of the Sacramento County Public Health Advisory Board, where she advocates for increasing youth behavioral health literacy, training, and workforce pipelines. In her free time, Sonal loves to bake, enjoys reading while cuddling with her cats, and is an avid Kings fan. Sonal received BAs in philosophy and molecular biology from UC Berkeley, and an MPH from UC Irvine.
