Sibyl Brown
Development Associate, Shepherd's Table
Sibyl Brown is the Development Associate for Shepherd's Table, a non-profit in Silver Spring, MD that provides basic resources for people experiencing homelessness and poverty. In this role, she performs a variety of fundraising tasks such as grant writing, event planning, and major gifts solicitation. She is also responsible for managing the organization’s donor database and overseeing proper stewardship with all donors and community stakeholders. Since entering the workforce full time in 2014, she has exclusively worked for non-profit organizations, providing a variety of direct social services. She previously served in development and advocacy roles for a large food bank, and as a social worker for a foster care agency. Sibyl was born in Washington, D.C. and raised in Silver Spring, MD. She received her undergraduate degree in American Government and Spanish from Smith College in Northampton, MA. She also has a graduate degree in Non-profit Management from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL. Sibyl now lives in Hyattsville, MD with her rescue dog, Mila, and is an active volunteer with several local animal rescue groups. She also volunteers regularly as a food delivery driver for Mana Food Bank in Maryland, delivering meals to individuals and families in need. Her favorite show is Parks and Recreation and she is a passionate vegan who loves to bake.
