Samantha Grimsley - 2024 NLC Columbus Fellow
Sam Grimsley (she/they) is an advocate against state violence and reproductive injustice. Sam firmly believes that all forms of injustice are tied to each other, that justice for one only comes with justice for all, and that only by centering the most vulnerable can the work move forward. Sam's current role is in Resource Development at Mid-Ohio Food Collective, working to raise funds needed to support their work. There, she sits on the DEI council, and is a co-chair on the Policy and Practices sub-committee. Sam enjoys singing, making people around her laugh, and spending time with her 3 pets.
As an adult with ADHD, Sam is excited to learn to advocate for herself in new ways. In their experience, systems of care for neurodivergent people drop off dramatically after childhood, leaving adults with limited options. They're looking forward to growing as an advocate and realizing change in this space.
