Rudy Arellano - 2025 NLC Washington DC Fellow

Rudy Arellano (he/him) is an advocate for educational equity. He believes that all students regardless of race, sex, sexual orientation, abilities, zip code or socioeconomic status, deserve a quality, rigorous, and culturally responsive education. As a Program Analyst at the Office of the State Superintendent of Education, he works to support community-based organizations in reducing chronic absenteeism and truancy. His trajectory has taken him from being an English and Special Education teacher in Dallas and Los Angeles to being a Fellow through Leadership for Educational Equity and Education Pioneers. Rudy currently lives in Washington, DC where he enjoys visiting the city's museums and cultural happenings. He grew up in Pomona, CA and San Antonio, TX, and is the proud son of Mexican immigrants.
