Pranati (Pranoo) Kumar

Pranoo Kumar (she/they) is a proud immigrant, educator, TedX speaker and mother dedicated to identity driven educational experiences. Pranoo has founded a number of early childhood and elementary inclusive programs with notable projects in Harlem, the South Bronx and co-founding Washington state’s first elementary charter school. She then established divHERse education consulting in 2019 to address the lack of representation/ retention of women of color in ed leadership. Committed to authentic community building, she opened Rohi’s Readery, a social justice-driven children's bookstore and learning center. With over 170 community partnerships and 300+ free events, Pranoo is committed to liberation. Pranoo has garnered numerous accolades, including 2-time NY Teacher of the Year, Gates Foundation K-12 Programs Contributor, and Champion for Equity in Education School District Award. A current professor at Watson Institute x Lynn University, she holds a BS in Biology, MS in Medical Sciences and an MS in Education/Special Education.
