Nancy Retana (she/her) is the Grant Specialist/Development Coordinator for the Kenosha County Division of Parks. Her duties primarily focus on the full range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals to government, foundation, and corporate sources. In addition, Retana serves as the County Parks’ liaison to other community organizations, she coordinates projects through a systematic project management approach, and recruits, supervises, and monitors seasonal employees and internship programs. Retana graduated from Carthage College in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and Spanish. In December 2019, she graduated with a Master of Public Administration degree with a focus in municipal management from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. In her free time, Retana enjoys traveling, running 5K and 10Ks, and spending time with her family, especially her nieces, Daniela and Zaina. Retana aspires to be a great role model for not only her nieces and nephews, but other underrepresented women of color in the public sector.
