May Lim
May Lim - 2025 NLC Washington DC Fellow
May Lim is a community advocate and policy professional who is dedicated to reimagining the criminal justice system. She has worked as a lobbyist, for a non-profit focused on resentencing people serving excessive sentences, as a policy consultant, for local elected officials, and as a community organizer.
May's community experience began with leading a student advocacy group working to increase higher educational opportunities in prisons and volunteering with organizations that support incarcerated people who face immigration-related legal challenges.
May holds a Master of Public Policy degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Psychology from the University of Washington.
In her free time, May enjoys exploring DC neighborhoods, playing classical music with other local musicians, and eating fast food.
