Mark Barta – Omaha
Mark C. Barta (he/him) is an Omaha native and proud member of the LGBTQIA+ Community; Mark studied at the American Musical Dramatic Academy in New York City and toured the nation doing various musicals and plays. He also spent more than 11 years teaching English in Brazil. Returning to Omaha in 2015, Mark joined the legal community and served the Fourth Judicial District Court for nearly six years, most recently as Bailiff for the Honorable Gary B. Randall, one of the first openly queer District Court Judges in the nation. Mark is well-versed in civil, domestic, and criminal law and has fostered strong working relationships with the judiciary and other legal professionals throughout the Omaha Metro. He enjoys working in a position where he can make a meaningful difference every day. Mark has a passion for Queer History, and he is currently working on seeing Queer History taught in schools nationwide.
