Mariah Byrne

Mariah Byrne is a licensed social worker with the Boys & Girls Club of Greater St. Louis, where she works with high schoolers on academic achievement, preparation for college and careers, mental health, socioemotional learning, and resiliency. Mariah also works part-time as the Operations & Engagement Lead for Campfire, a storytelling and public speaking organization, and serves as the Board Treasurer for Coordinated Youth & Human Services in Granite City, IL. Mariah graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University in 2014 and her joint Master in Social Work and Master in Business Administration from Washington University in St. Louis in 2020. Prior to moving to St. Louis in 2017, Mariah served with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps and worked in case management in housing/homelessness services and alongside the juvenile justice system. While at WashU, Mariah completed practicums in strategic planning and assessment with St. Vincent Home for Children, youth development with Lutheran Development Group, and program design and implementation with WashU’s Office for Religious, Spiritual & Ethical Life. In her leisure time, Mariah enjoys long walks in her neighborhood of Forest Park Southeast, reading, hiking, throwing kitchen dance parties, and making homemade ice cream. She also works with her neighborhood’s pod through St. Louis Mutual Aid and sits on Metropolitan Congregations United’s Juvenile Justice Task Force.
