Manuel Juarez - 2025 NLC South TX Frontera Fellow

Manuel Juarez is a farmer and rancher from Laredo, Texas, dedicated to strengthening his South Texas community through sustainable agriculture and food advocacy. Along with his family at Palo Blanco Farm and Ranch, he helps grow nutrient-rich produce, including microgreens, sprouts, and hydroponic lettuce, while raising grass-finished beef and pasture-raised eggs. Manuel's mission is to address food insecurity and increase access to healthy, locally grown food, particularly in underserved communities. A Texas State University alumnus with a master’s degree in agriculture, he is also passionate about equity in the food system, advocating for policy changes to support BIPOC farmers and sustainable farming practices. Through his work, Manuel fosters connections across industries and identities, creating partnerships to ensure a healthier, more resilient future for his region.
