Malayna Hasmanis - 2025 NLC Tulsa Fellow

Malayna Hasmanis has dedicated her career to education and nonprofit work, with a focus on empowering Oklahoma youth. As the sibling of two individuals with disabilities, Malayna witnessed firsthand the stark differences in how the education and support systems treated her little sister, who has Down syndrome, and her little brother, who has autism. This experience shaped her deep commitment to ensuring equity and inclusion for all.

With degrees in special education, leadership, and public policy, she now teaches incarcerated adults through Langston University’s Second Chance Pell Program and serves as the Tulsa Post Adjudication Review Board Coordinator, advocating for youth in foster care. Diagnosed with a disability herself later in life, Malayna is passionate about eliminating barriers and creating access to resources for all.
