Lucia Hunt – Wisconsin
Lucia Hunt currently lives in Madison, WI and loves to be connected to the community and nature. She grew up in Seattle, Washington, and has always been passionate about connecting people to the outdoors through helping to run a student-led outdoors organization for high school students, leading college-age students in pre-orientation backpacking trips and summer outdoor programming for middle schoolers. This passion grew into her professional life as Lucia now works with Sustain Dane, an education nonprofit to help accelerate sustainability, equity, and climate action in the greater Madison region in Wisconsin. She is excited to continue building networks to connect local and regional climate action, including learning more about and taking initiative around how to empower people to find their own voice and role within the climate movement. As the Member Relations and Development Specialist at Sustain Dane, Lucia leads membership outreach and engagement, grants, and program sponsorship. Previously, Lucia worked with the nonprofit REAP Food Group to promote a more equitable and interconnected local food system in South Central Wisconsin. Before that, she worked as a project manager for Epic Systems. Lucia holds a bachelor’s degree in Geography from Macalester College, and she is passionate about analyzing and engaging with the layered systems and actors that play into urban sustainability. She also attended Universidad Nacional de CUYO in Mendoza Argentina during a semester studying abroad. Lucia enjoys being outside and moving her body, including leading free and donation-based yoga classes as a 200 hour certified yoga instructor.
