Lillian Swedlow (she/her) is an aspiring aerospace engineering student at Foothill College and a passionate advocate for equity in STEM. Inspired by her single mother, who completed college while raising her, Lillian embraces perseverance in the face of challenges. After stepping away from higher education to work and build self-confidence following an ADHD diagnosis, she returned to college with renewed purpose. She founded the Women in Engineering and Astronomy Clubs, held leadership roles in student organizations, and served in student government.
As the STEM Student Empowerment Specialist at Foothill's Science Learning Institute, Lillian has been a peer tutor and mentor, and manages the peer tutoring program for MESA. She has also participated in NASA programs L'SPACE and NCAS. Lillian envisions a more inclusive STEM.
