Lem Cartman - 2025 NLC Detroit Fellow

Lem Cartman is a healthcare professional dedicated to advancing equity and access in underserved communities. Growing up on the South-Side of Chicago as one of 18 siblings, Lem’s experiences instilled in him a passion for creating meaningful change.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Leadership and a Master of Healthcare Administration from Valparaiso University. Lem is currently an Administrative Fellow at Henry Ford Health under the President, Value-Based Enterprise and Chief Financial Officer, where he focuses on Community Health, Emergency Department operations, and social determinants of health. Lem also co-founded two consulting groups dedicated to community empowerment.

In his free time, Lem enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with family. He is passionate about fostering cross-sector collaboration to create sustainable, community-driven solutions.
