Kunal Basu-Dutta

Kunal Basu-Dutta (he/him) serves as a founding partner with Modern Bay Strategies — a Black, Brown, and LGBTQ-led strategic creative and marketing firm focused on supporting policy campaigns, small businesses, non-profits, political candidates, and all those fighting for justice and equity for marginalized communities. Through this, he's worked with the ACLU, flipped a State Senate seat in Georgia, and fought Big Tobacco and Big Oil in California. He also serves as a board member for the Oakland LGBTQ Community Center and a founding member of the Lakeshore LGBTQ Cultural District. In his spare time, he enjoys watching movies (especially bad ones), grilling in the yard, and playing board games. He has lived in West Oakland since 2018.
