Kierra Smith

Kierra J. Smith is a native Miamian and understands firsthand how exposure to different experiences and resources can change the trajectory of a person’s life. Kierra is an alumna of Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) where she majored in English with a focus in Secondary Education. Her career as an educator has afforded a range of experiences such as teaching, nonprofit leadership, intervention for elementary school students, and offering support for college students and recent graduates. Kierra has always had a strong desire to help students along the way and has done so for over ten years.

Joining the ranks of the New Leaders Council will allow her to continue to pursue her passions in a new way. She seeks to gain insight on how to further enrich the experiences of the communities which she serves. She is passionate about populations who are underrepresented and under-resourced.
