Kayla Taylor - 2024 NLC Broward Fellow

Kayla Taylor is a criminal justice and education advocate. She believes that every child and person should have a fair trial and education. In her current role at the City of Miami as an aftercare tutor, she helps children reach their full potential. Kayla attends Barry University attaining her bachelor’s degree. In 2019 Kayla proudly received an award for outstanding teen counselor from the Miami-Dade County Courts. Kayla resides in Miami, FL where she enjoys volunteering with the local teen court committee and elementary schools. Kayla has spent the last six years serving in the MDCPS where she has impacted children PreKindergarten-5th Grade. Kayla spent the last three years volunteering with the Teen Court Committee. Kayla grew up in a two-parent home in a rural area. Kayla is an amazing advocate for both equal education and fair justice. She hopes that she can make a difference within her community.
