Kayla King Scott is a freelance publicist, digital marketing strategist, and community changemaker. She possesses over 7 years of digital marketing experience and has worked to consult women-owned businesses. She is currently serving as a community engagement manager in the non-profit sector. Growing up in North Philadelphia, she loved using her creativity with words which have helped her to be published in several newspaper outlets and national platforms such as Her Campus Magazine and SoulTrain.com Kayla attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Communications Media and a minor in Pre- Law. At IUP, she learned about public relations, project management and so much more all while finding her voice as the youngest producer of the show, The Underground, and becoming the voice of late-night radio as DJ K Starr. Kayla has served the community through the Urban League Young Professionals, The Junior League of Greater Pittsburgh, and the Alumnae Association of the Philadelphia High School for Girls. Kayla is a graduate of Coro’s Women in Leadership and Cornell University’s Women in Entrepreneurship Certification. She is also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. She embraces her personal goal of being a ‘Change-Maker’ and is building her platform to uplift women and young girls by ideally sharing her personal mantra that "Where you come from is not where you’re going".
