Joey Flores
Joey Flores - 2025 NLC South TX Frontera Fellow
Joey Flores is an educator and filmmaker from Laredo, TX. In his current role, Joey teaches animation and audio/video production courses to high school students in south Laredo. He graduated from The University of Texas at Austin where he received a Bachelor of Science in Radio-Television-Film, specializing in film production, visual effects and motion graphics. Joey has served as Board Member for Laredo Film Society and Texas Exes Laredo Chapter and has volunteered for organizations such as Laredo Immigrant Alliance where he served as an advocate for the “Made to Save” campaign which addressed COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy among BIPOC and Latinx communities. Other local organizations he has worked with include the Rio Grande International Studies Center and the Daphne Art Foundation.
