Joel Corte

Joel Corte (he/him) is an event coordinator at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley who, in his free time, is dedicated to voter rights and community engagement. He earned a bachelor’s degree from George Washington University and a master’s degree in political science from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. While in Washington, D.C., Joel worked on education equity and advocated for labor rights as a student organizer. Based in McAllen, Texas, he focuses on increasing civic participation and fostering solidarity in his community. His writing centers on organizing, democracy, and building meaningful connections. In his free time, Joel enjoys attending community events, exploring film photography, and actively participating in his book club.
