Jessica Miles

Jessica Miles (she/her) is an arts and youth leadership advocate. A born and raised Appalachian, Jessica grew up in a region often misunderstood or ignored by the rest of the country. In her role at Appalshop, Jessica works with young people to help them discover their voice and help them to create change through media making. She believes it is important for young people in Appalachia to build regional power and advocate for the change they wish to see in their own communities. Jessica attended the University of Kentucky and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Media Arts in 2015. Outside of her work with Appalshop, Jessica is an organizer with EKY Mutual Aid and serves on the board of Headwaters. She is based in Whitesburg, KY.
