Jessica Karpinski – Wisconsin

Jessica Karpinski (she/her) is originally from Pottstown, Pennsylvania, and earned bachelor’s degrees in Communications and International Studies from The Pennsylvania State University, as well as receiving a minor in Italian. While studying for her undergraduate degree, she lived in Rome, Italy and after graduation, she lived and worked in various countries, including Mexico and South Korea. While living overseas, she taught English as a second language and earned her master’s in Applied Linguistics from the University of Newcastle. Jessica was also a founding member of the Busan chapter of Democrats Abroad, which aids Americans living overseas with navigating the process for absentee voting. Jessica moved to Madison, Wisconsin in 2018 where she was accepted into a five-year plumbing apprenticeship program with the Local 75. Jessica is a part of the Tradeswomen of South Central Wisconsin and volunteers with multiple organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and the Clean Lakes Alliance. She is an advocate for diversifying the construction trades with more representation of BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and women in the industry. In her free time, Jessica studies for her courses associated with her plumbing apprenticeship and enjoys the arts through visiting exhibits or attending live music shows.
