Jacqueline Santillana - 2024 NLC South TX Frontera Fellow

Jacqueline Santillana (she/her/ella) is a grassroots organizer and political advocate. She believes in uplifting the voices of survivors and immigrant communities. Jacqueline is a first generation college graduate from the University of Texas at Austin. She received a bachelor's degree in Government in 2022. Through 2020-2022, she worked with the Texas Rising Program as a Deputy Field Organizer registering and empowering young voters. Jacqueline currently lives in Lyford, Texas where she volunteers with local democratic parties and organizations helping victims. Jacqueline loves spending time in parks, creating art, and writing. She grew up in a low-income household with support from social security, food pantries, and local organizations. She dedicates her fight for social change to her late parents and is driven by the community who helped shape her.
