Jackson Voss

Jackson Voss is the Economic Opportunity Policy Analyst for the Louisiana Budget Project, covering issues such as workforce development, minimum wage, payday lending and other issues pertaining to economic justice. His job consists of researching and advocating for policies and legislation that will reduce and eliminate economic and racial inequality, and improve working life for all Louisianans. A graduate of Louisiana State University’s Ogden Honors College (BA’14) and the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy at the University of Michigan (MPP’2018), Jackson has served in a variety of roles in government, nonprofit, political campaigns, and policy-focused organizations across the South. Most recently, he worked for nearly two years as a professional staff member and legislative aide for U.S. Senator and Ranking Member Gary Peters' on the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee in Washington, D.C. before returning to Louisiana as a research associate for the Kathleen Blanco Public Policy Center at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Originally from New Orleans, and currently living in Lafayette, Louisiana with his dog Lady Bird, Jackson has lived across the country and is committed to ensuring his home state and fellow Louisianans, as well as all the world’s people, are given the best lives and greatest opportunities possible.
