Gregory Carter

Gregory Carter was born and raised in Ohio in a small village alongside the Ohio river. Village is not hyperbole, his hometown literally did not have enough residents to be qualified as a town. It was this humble upbringing that Gregory credits for his family-oriented character and midwestern values. Gregory believes that growing up in that environment gave him an appreciation for humility, hard work, and his community. Gregory was the first member of his immediate family to leave home and graduate from college. After college at Wittenberg University and law school at the University of Cincinnati, Gregory made New Orleans his home in 2009. Without roots in Louisiana, Gregory took a leap of faith in his move to Louisiana, but was welcomed with open arms by the great people of New Orleans. Gregory began his legal career at the Orleans Public Defenders Office where he represented numerous community members against crimes ranging from misdemeanors to high level felonies. It was in 2011 that Gregory founded The G.Carter Law Firm, LLC where he currently practices full-time in the area of criminal defense and community advocacy. In addition to his legal career, Gregory is an active member of his church, the Silverback Society, and various other community and social organizations within the city. Despite his love for New Orleans, Gregory remains an avid supporter of his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes. Gregory has devoted his life to the betterment of New Orleans through passionate advocacy and selfless mentorship.
