George Zapata

George A. Zapata serves his hometown of Kearny with dedication and passion. A proud Kearny High School alumnus, George earned his Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Rutgers University and is actively pursuing a Master’s in Public Administration.

George's commitment to public service began early; he was elected to the Kearny Board of Education at 19, the youngest board member ever elected, where he demonstrated exceptional leadership and earned the Master Board Member Certification. After 6 years of service, he was then elected as the First Ward Councilman in Kearny at the age of 25, one of the youngest in Kearny’s history. George continues to prioritize the well-being of his community, showcasing his unwavering determination to enhancing the quality of life for all residents.
