Faiz Jiwani - 2024 NLC Chicago Fellow

Faiz Jiwani (he/him) is a primary care physician working to help community members achieve greater self-determination through direct medical care and medical advocacy. He currently partners with patients at Erie Family Health, a federally qualified health center here in Chicago, which serves all community members regardless of ability to pay. Faiz holds an undergraduate degree in Neuroscience from Brown University, completed medical training at the University of Florida and Baylor College of Medicine in internal medicine, and completed a Master's degree in Narrative Medicine from Columbia University. He is an inducted member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society.

Alongside his patient care, he pursues interests in medical advocacy and education regarding the social determinants of health, and has contributed to legislative advocacy efforts at the federal and state level with the American Medical Association and Texas HIV/AIDS coalition. He also enjoys listening to and performing spoken word poetry.
