Dwight Williams - 2024 NLC New York City Fellow
Dwight Williams (He/Him/His) is dedicated to advancing educational equity and economic empowerment in underserved communities. Currently, he serves as a school leader within the Ascend Charter School network. In this capacity, Dwight oversees systems aimed at improving teachers' instructional practices to positively impact student learning outcomes.
His commitment to providing an equitable and high-quality education is deeply rooted in his personal journey as a first-generation, low-income, college graduate. A Caribbean immigrant hailing from the twin islands of Trinidad and Tobago, Dwight brings a unique perspective to his role, leveraging his experiences to advocate for inclusive and equitable educational practices and create pathways for success.
Dwight holds a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from Andrews University, a Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) from Relay Graduate School of Education, and a graduate certificate in Instructional Coaching from the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education.
