Desralynn Cole is a dedicated professional with a passion for community service and a commitment to making a positive impact and demonstrates leadership by staying diligent in calling out the complexities of public administration and addressing the needs of the community.
Currently, Ms. Cole is the ReCAST Program Director at the City of Oakland Human Services Department and holds a bachelor's degree from Fisk University.
Desralynn's commitment to social justice and community welfare was particularly evident in 2020 when she received the prestigious Virginia McKnight Binger Unsung Hero Award. This recognition was a testament to her unwavering advocacy for equal access to resources and basic needs following the tragic events in her community after the murder of George Floyd. In the face of adversity, Desralynn, along with the NERP team, served over 8000 residents and led 150 volunteers within a span of three months.
