Daniel Cano - 2025 NLC Orange County (California) Fellow
Daniel Cano is a strategist and connector focused on creating equitable opportunities through advocacy, partnerships, and storytelling. He has worked with underserved communities in California, leading initiatives like creating reentry employment pathways as the 2016-17 Greenlining Health Fellow. As Policy & Research Director for UC student leaders, he helped freeze tuition hikes, secure $1.3 million for undocumented students, and eliminate standardized testing in admissions.
A recent graduate of COOP Careers’ digital marketing fellowship, Cano is refining his skills in data-driven storytelling, paid search and media strategy. He holds a BA in social policy and psychology from UC Irvine. Also a recording artist under senadanielcano, his lo-fi hip-hop track “Changes” has surpassed 1 million streams. He is now diving into tech, philanthropy and social entrepreneurship.
