Cecilia Jimenez De La Fuente - 2024 NLC South TX Frontera Fellow

Cecilia A. Jimenez De La Fuente is a feminist fronteriza and optimist. Raised in Laredo, Texas, she developed her passion for community organizing as an undergraduate student at Texas A&M International University, receiving her bachelor's degree in Political Science and Sociology in Spring 2023. Currently, she serves students as an Academic Success Coach with the TAMIU Academic and Industry Readiness in Engineering and Science (AIRES) Grant. In 2022, she was a Panelist for Su Voto, Su Voz: Impact of Latino and Youth Vote at TAMIU, and in 2021, she was awarded a Certificate of Recognition by the City of Laredo for coordinating Laredo’s first-ever Climate Camp, a two-day climate justice event aimed at leadership development for 40 young Laredoans. She enjoys time with her pet pig, Paris, performing with and watching local theatre, singing, and weight lifting. She's dedicated to organizing Latine communities, especially those led by youth and women.
