Bail Disruptor, The Bail Project
Ashley White is a Bail Disruptor in Baton Rouge, LA with The Bail Project (TBP). The Bail Project is a national revolving bail fund that works to battle mass incarceration by posting bail for people who cannot afford it. At TBP she has led the site in bailing out over 150 clients and establishing key relationships with community partners. She also serves as the community Board Member of the East Baton Rouge Parish Criminal Justice Coordinating Council. Prior to joining TBP, she completed a full-time Data Science Immersive at General Assembly in Washington, D.C., where she focused on real-world applications and social implications of machine learning and artificial intelligence. Ashley’s passion for social justice and determination to use data-driven activism to improve society was sparked by her upbringing in Baton Rouge and her time living in Los Angeles. While in L.A., Ashley was an early volunteer and subsequent Volunteer Coordinator for SuPRMARKT a pop-up organic produce market serving food deserts in South L.A. Through her work, Ashley was impassioned to improve health outcomes for people of color through access to nutritious, organic foods. Since her move back home to Louisiana, Ashley has earned an Urban Agriculture Certification through Southern University A&M College’s Agriculture Department. Prior to immersing in social justice and data science, Ashley was a member of the Enterprise Strategy team at AECOM, the largest architecture and engineering firm in America. There she provided operational, financial and strategic analysis to the company's Chief Executive Officer and Operating Group Presidents. Before joining AECOM, she was a Senior Analyst at Seale & Associates, a middle-market investment bank where she supported in all aspects of divestitures, mergers, acquisitions, recapitalizations, and valuations. Ashley started her career as a Strategy and Operations Consultant at Deloitte Consulting. She graduated with a BBA in Finance from Howard University.
