Alexandra Abboud is a Licensed Social Worker passionate about reforming mental health and crisis response. She is dedicated to ensuring that everyone in crisis is met with an empathetic response. Alexandra obtained her Bachelors in Social Work from Miami University. She then obtained her Master's in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh where she quickly fell in love with everything Pittsburgh has to offer. She currently is working for the City of Pittsburgh - Office of Community Health and Safety as the Social Work Manager. She previously served as the Victim Assistance Coordinator in the City’s Department of Public Safety, where she provided trauma-informed care, advocacy, and resources for victims of crime. Her expertise includes crisis intervention, harm reduction practices, survivor supports, and youth engagement. In her prior role, she assisted OCH&S in developing the Continuum of Support Program. As the Social Work Manager, she supervises social work staff who will support individuals with needs outside of the traditional public safety response, work with survivors of crime and assist in the development of public safety/social worker co-response programs. Alexandra enjoys exploring the Pittsburgh neighborhoods that she loves to serve and teaches indoor cycling classes at California Cycle Path in her free time. Her personal and professional life have been centered around serving those around her and she looks forward to using her skills to make an impact.
